Today was our long-awaited appointment day at the French Consulate.  I had all the items on the checklist provided by the Consulate, photos, passports, prepaid return envelope and copies of everything!  We had separate appointments (required) for 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., but they called us up together.  That made sense as our packets were mostly the same.  We were then photographed and fingerprinted, paid our fees, and left with big smiles on our faces.  Having accepted our packets, and paying the processing fee is still not a guarantee that they will grant our visas.  The paperwork will now be reviewed to determine if we are acceptable or not.  It will be a long wait for 2 – 3 weeks waiting for our passports to be returned and see if we were approved or not.

Tonight is a French dinner to celebrate another milestone towards our grand adventure and a bottle of Veuve Cliquot was put in the fridge to chill for the awaiting of the (hopefully) good news to come shortly.

Jusqu’à plus tard!
